July 2025 was the moment I decided to walk away from a software corporation I’d been with for over a year since my student days. I fought tooth and nail to transition from an intern to a full-time employee, but eventually, the crushing weight of work pressure and my final graduation requirements became too much. I chose to quit to focus entirely on finishing my degree.
I used to think I had a massive head start—a stable income and a great environment. I figured that graduating from a top-tier university with a solid degree, a highly-rated capstone project, and over a year of experience would make me "bulletproof." But reality had other plans. It’s been nearly three months since graduation, and I’m still looking. I even left the "most livable city" for the capital in hopes of finding work, but so far, there hasn't been a single positive signal.
In the beginning, I was relaxed, but eventually, the invisible pressures started to sink in: family expectations, the cost of living, the uncertainty. However, I realized I couldn't just sit around. I started exploring and observing the world more. I took on new experiences to sharpen the soft skills I lacked and to cover my expenses. In my spare time, I’ve been reinforcing my industry fundamentals and intentionally designing my career path. Now, even though I’m technically "unemployed," I’m happy. I’ve learned to accept it.
Don’t view unemployment as a negative; see it as a natural part of life. It’s just a temporary state in our career journey. As long as we keep "working" on ourselves, results will follow.
I don’t have any specific advice for you—you have to find your own way.
