The Job

We are currently searching for a UX Designer to provide capability and focus for projects that will upgrade the user experience of Hansen's products and solutions. The role is internal and customer facing, necessitating good communication skills and a willingness to travel. It is expected that the successful applicant will participate in every aspect of the project lifecycle.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Design user interfaces for web applications used by call centre agents, back office staff and consumers, from sketches and wireframes through to high-fidelity mockups and design specifications.
  • Create navigation flows, storyboards and customer journey maps.
  • Work closely with product owners and agile/Scrum development teams on bringing your designs to life.
  • Collaborate with product specialists and users of our systems (such as Customer Service Reps) to identify opportunities for UI/UX improvement.
  • Maintain living documents such as style guides, pattern libraries, and best practices documents.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the UX practice at Hansen.

Your Skills and Experience

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • 4+ years' work experience as a UX designer, ideally in a software company.
  • Fluent written and verbal English language skills, including clear and concise writing style
  • A portfolio of work showing an ability to design effective user interfaces
  • A proven ability to understand complex industries or subject matter, and then design user interfaces that reduce that complexity for users.
  • Good visual design skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A working knowledge of HTML 5, CSS and ideally JavaScript is desirable
  • Proficiency with prototyping and wireframing tools such as Axure, Visio, and Balsamiq, as well as graphics editing or layout tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Utility industry experience is an advantage, as is experience with custom back-office applications and call-centre systems.
  • Experience working in IT in non-UX roles such as business analysis, development, quality assurance, technical writing or customer service is highly regarded.
  • Experience working in a distributed team is an advantage
