Job description

AdStart Media is a technology-driven company active in the digital advertising and mobile payments space, well established and rapidly expanding globally. As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for implementing the company’s technical vision and help us design and build great products that are intuitive, adaptable, secure, and scalable. You’ll also manage our infrastructure and ensure all internal systems operate securely and effectively.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES

  • Full technical ownership of the in-house billing platform and related services (feature prioritization, planning, specifications, development coordination, testing, training)
  • Design, build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data pipelines
  • Continuously assess reliability and performance of all internal systems to improve the architecture and ensure compliance with the latest security standards
  • Review, maintain and refactor existing code to meet the requirements for improved and new features
  • Line management, training, and personal development of a small team of Front-, Back-end, and DevOps engineers. Grow the team by hiring new top talent
  • Collaborate with developers on functional/technical specifications by taking the provided complex business requirements and putting them into technical descriptions for the team to develop technical solutions
  • Conduct code reviews and promote the development of well-formulated, testable, and readable code
  • Provide monitoring and guidance in the business process and solution design. Give direction, training, and leadership in techniques and tools to the development team
  • Lead the IT knowledge management by authoring, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality documentation and writing audience-appropriate materials to serve as technical and/or business user references
  • Prepare reports on progress, with recommendations, to senior management concerning platform development
  • Partner with your team through the development process using Scrum methodologies and tools.
  • Ensure a high-volume, low-latency, distributed system and work with your team to make calculated decisions when both are not possible
  • Continually explore emerging technologies, adapt quickly, and advise accordingly

Your skills and experience

YOUR ATTRIBUTES

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership position managing a team of developers
  • Very good command of English. Able to read, write, and communicate at an advanced level.
  • Familiarity with Relational/NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, H2 or MySQL
  • Working experience in Mobile Payments, Online Payments, Billing Systems a big plus
  • Awareness of Test-Driven-Development (Test automation and test frameworks like Junit, EasyMock, PowerMock) and proficiency with continuous integration (Jenkins, Teamcity)
  • Knowledge of app server/web server technology like Netty, Tomcat or JBOSS
  • Experience working on agile development teams using scrum methodologies and tools
  • Must be hands-on, organized, efficient, self-driven and have good attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds in multiple time zones
