Summary of Opportunity

The Sr. Project Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for organizing and leading software engineering and product development resources to plan, manage and successfully deliver multiple projects. The Sr. Project Manager reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager and works directly with stakeholders to bring innovative products and software solutions to life. 

This is a highly challenging, exciting and rewarding opportunity for a strong and capable candidate who is ready to excel in a fast moving regional logistics technology startup company. 

Description of Job

  • You will work with key stakeholders and product team members to scope, size, and develop project plans at a task, budget, and resource level. 
  • You will manage and document proposed and accepted changes to the scope. 
  • You will be in charge of major product releases: timeline, deadlines, coordination between team members, from Business, Product, QC, Systems, and Software Engineering teams.
  • You will work on production tickets and features to clarify requirements.
  • You will directly contribute to day-to-day project management of software engineering and testing for multiple products and projects.
  • You will manage resources. You will access, plan, and engage resources as needed throughout deployment and service engagements.
  • You will track and report. You will ensure all deliverables and milestones are met, in keeping with timelines and budget. You will provide internal and external stakeholders with accurate and timely project information and status updates.
  • You will manage issues. You will engage the team on an ongoing basis to identify and proactively manage project issues, risks, action plans, and implications.
  • You will monitor risks and follow best practices, escalating issues where appropriate to mitigate risks.
  • You will provide status reports, presentations, and demonstrations to all levels of management.
  • You will compile historical data from previous Iterations/Releases and provide it for team-wide use and future estimating activities.
  • You will manage processes of development and incidents escalation.
  • You will apply all Agile Scrum Best Practices: sprint estimation, daily standups, follow-ups, sprint planning, retrospective, etc.
  • You will mentor team leads to develop their project management discipline.
  • You will adhere to a structured, project management methodology; translating internal Agile processes into the project structure of choice used by our stakeholders.
  • You will contribute to improving processes and support the development of the PMO.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the company from time to time.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with software development and delivering complex project management experience.
  • Project management qualification (PMP) or Scrum certificate (PMI/Scrum.org/ scrum alliance) is a plus.
  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure, excellent communication skills, teamwork, leadership, high adaptability, self-motivation, and able to inspire others.
  • Strong written and verbal English.
