Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Quality Assistance Engineer (SQAE) to enlarge and strengthen the QA team of our Product Development Department.
At Magnolia, everybody within the development team is responsible for delivering high quality. To enforce this and to make sure that developers and business people adopt a QA mindset, learn how to use testing tools and develop their skills in the process, we are looking for an experienced QAE.
As a senior QAE, you will find yourself in a broad area of involvements: Defining standards such as the APIs of our test frameworks and general QA tools, improving processes, optimizing operations for CI/CD, supporting and motivating developers e.g. via education and documentation, specifying test scenarios, reviewing and implementing integration and functional tests, defining and monitoring proper test coverage and additional related tasks.
By joining the newly created QA team, you will have the support from both your QAE colleagues as well as from SRE specialists, members of core development and other teams. You will have a bright opportunity to support this global initiative.
Your Skills and Experience
Responsibilities
- Review feature requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured integration test plans and test cases.
- Design, develop and execute Java integration tests using the Selenium framework.
- Monitor the integration test results of the CI build pipeline. Analyse and report new defects.
- Track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
- Support the development team in education and best practices in the integration test area.
- Conduct workshops. Push for continuous improvement.
- Support development of standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies.
Requirements
- Proven work experience in Java software development (3 years or more).
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance (5 years or more).
- Familiar with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Docker.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, especially tools and processes using Selenium. Knowledge of Gherkin is a plus.
- Experience with writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Work experience with an Agile/Scrum development process. Familiarity with Jira is a plus.
- Advanced English written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinker.
