Job description
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will design and build infrastructure and related components which will form the NAB Monitoring, Analytics and Diagnostics Platform predominantly consisting of Splunk.
You will promote AWS/Azure and cloud best practices to maximise performance; design and develop ‘infrastructure as code’ and keep up to date with new tools and technologies relevant to core Monitoring Platform and related projects and proactively promote new tools and methodologies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement and maintain different AWS/Azure services
- Establish AWS/Azure infrastructure design patterns
- Develop solutions and specifications so that agreed requirements can be converted into functional systems
- Work across the full spectrum of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Actively contribute to planning sessions and other Agile ceremonies across the team
- Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders to ensure success of deliverables
- Manage in-life pattern patching and defect resolution
- Support: Make initial diagnosis of problems, for a system or sub-system or apply known solutions, including documenting problems, progress checking, and escalation to ensure resolution
Your skills and experience
Must have:
- 5+ years in application development and support
- 3+ years of
- AWS : solid AWS services (EC2, VPC, EBs, ASG, S3, Cloudwatch, Load Balancer, Lambda); OR:
- OR Azure : Azure core services:
+ Azure AD: Groups, App Registration
+ Azure RM: Management groups, subscriptions, RG, KV, RSV, vnets, subnets, route tables , automation accounts – etc - Strong experience in Linux and CI/CD preferably Jenkins
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Github and Ansible
- Container & Container Orchestration tools (Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes)
- Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent time management skills
Nice to have:
- Good experience in scripting using Python/Groovy
- Technical knowledge in automated delivery products / technology /tools
- Continuous development and testing techniques along with documentation
- An open mindset and proven ability to innovate and influence.
