*This role is fully remote position that can be performed from anywhere within Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines, Malaysia or Indonesia for those with full working rights within those countries.
 

About the Infrastructure Platform Lead job:

Our Core Technology and Platform team are looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Lead with deep experience in Cloud technologies and Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses, to manage and mentor our team of 6 Infrastructure Engineers. This position is pivotal in strategically developing our scaling infrastructure, and delivering elegant solutions to unique and complex cloud technology challenges.
 

As our Infrastructure Platform Leader you will:

  • Lead a team of 6 Infrastructure Engineers to support and improve the engineering operations across the company.
  • Mentor existing team members, providing both technical and soft-skill guidance to help them grow their expertise and impact.
  • Communicate with and assess potential 3rd party vendors e.g. monitoring, infrastructure, build-pipelines etc.
  • Determine a strategic vision that continually modernises the architecture and tooling to provide increased performance and resilience, whilst being cost-effective.
  • Provide Cloud operation functions for a growing SaaS platform, focused optimised infrastructure components for uptime, scalability and performance (SLOs).
  • Design processes and pipelines ensuring reliable workflow for developers and application deployments.
  • Enhance engineersʼ productivity by developing internal tools and cloud automations.
  • Define and then deliver to the metrics that define success for the team and company as a whole.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including security experts and architects to ensure and enforce best application and infrastructure-security practices.
  • Participate in hiring activities to find the best talent to help grow the team’s capabilities.
  • Participating in on-call rotations, incident management and providing emergency response for production incidents.


You also will be:

  • A strong communicator, with excellent English language skills (both verbal & written).
  • Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, quality coding practices, and Agile methodology.
  • A critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Your skills and experience

To be a success in this position you will have these experiences, skills and qualities:

  • Expertise in running a highly-available SaaS platform leveraging the AWS Cloud platform with deep knowledge of infrastructure design and deployment across multiple regions.
  • Experience with Linux command line tools, operating system internals, networking layers and popular web application components (background jobs workers, web servers, load balancers, etc).
  • Deep experience in cloud-native architectures; including Kubernetes based container orchestration systems, MicroService architecture, ServiceMesh, Secret management, Observability solutions, etc.
  • Strong understanding and 3+ years of experience with at least one programming language and one configuration management tool.
  • Expert level of an Amazon Web Services (AWS) based environment and use of complimentary service offerings on production deployments.
  • Understanding of modern continuous integration/delivery pipeline and Gitops workflow.
  • Strong sense of stateful systems and their use cases, including but not limited to ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL and Kafka.
  • Knowledge of serverless technologies and design patterns including Lambda, DynamoDB.
  • Understanding or experience with industry-standard compliance, e.g. ISO 27001:2013, GDPR.

It would be an advantage if you also had:

  • A background in using Terraform.
  • AWS certification, e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
  • Experience with Ruby or GoLang.
  • Knowledge of .NET based system deployments and running.
