Job description

The Role

The position is responsible for providing day to day assistance to staff and students in their use of the University’s IT supported services including: desktop, laptop, printer, A/V, authentication, email, internet access, on-line teaching and learning systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Handle assigned tickets from first line support.
  • Deliver end-user support in a professional manner for desktops, laptops, printers and audio-visual equipment through telephone, email, remote desktop and visiting the user.
  • Follow up the repair of minor problems with printers, computers and software on daily operating basis.
  • Coordinate with other technical team on projects / task that require hand & feet on the ground.
  • Report major problems to IT Customer Services Manager & coordinate to resolve the issue with relevant team.
  • Perform regular proactive checks of desktops, printers, telephones and other IT devices as instructed by IT Customer Services Manager.
  • Provide out of hours support as required by being available through mobile phone access after-hours.
  • Act as an escalation point of ITS in Hanoi for any critical service request/incidents.
  • Responsible for equipment storage of ITS in Hanoi, follow up disposal of unused/obsoleted equipment.
  • Any other duties as directed by IT Customer Services Manager.

Your skills and experience

  • Have at least 4 years’ experience in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated in-dept experience in IT support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in desktop operating systems deployment and applications (Mac OS/O365/Windows 10), and general troubleshooting skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard, equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a Linguaskill test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made
