Job description

About The Role

“Do you ever get frustrated about how much fraud it is online and how little banks seem to be able to do to stop it? This is your chance to make a difference and level the playing field!”

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team in HCMC, Vietnam!

Chargeback, or friendly fraud, occurs when the user attempts to dispute a purchase that already happened, leading to the bank or the payment service provider taking action against the merchant to reverse the payment. According to Mercator Advisory Group, there were 25 million disputed transactions in the US in 2021 and predictably 33 million in 2022. Anticipating the growing problem, the Risk Management team is set to build a new generation of merchant solutions - namely GCI - that combat this type of fraud.

As an Engineering Manager for the Risk Management team, you will shape, drive and execute the roadmap for GCI. 2022 opportunities include launching GCI to existing customers, integrations with major payment service providers/gateways, Schemes, and Operators, building the product foundation for new sector expansion toward the end of 2022. As part of the Risk Management team, you’ll have an immediate impact on the bottom line of GeoComply’s newfound business.

On a daily basis, you will lead a full-stack software engineering team, Web and Backend engineers, together with QA engineers. You will partner with a product manager & the business teams in North America to align roadmaps, business goals, and maintain clear career paths for each engineer - it will be critical to foster a team environment that collaborates closely with remote offices (Vietnam, North America, East Europe).
