Job description

Live group is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing, multi-national team. Reporting directly to our Technology Director, the DevOps Engineer will implement, support, and continuously improve the engineering, environments, and CI/CD pipeline on cloud-based infrastructure as part of the business application system, ensuring high availability and scalability on both production and non-production systems. 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and implementing cost optimisation and simplification opportunities.
  • Actively managing, improving, and monitoring Cloud infrastructure on AWS, EC2, S3, and RDS, including backups, patches, and scaling.
  • Working in an Agile environment with cross-functional scrum teams, as well as, promoting the culture and practices of DevOps principles.
  • Keeping track of latest release versions and updating the running workload consistently across stack.
  • Working with the development team to develop, test, and maintain APIs.
  • Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of solutions.
  • Designing, developing, and unit testing applications in accordance with established best practices.
  • Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  • Packaging and supporting release deployments.
  • Analysing and resolving technical and application problems.
  • Participating in general IT System admin activities.
  • Coaching and mentoring of other Engineering team members on adopting Cloud services and improving existing solutions residing in AWS.

Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineer positions
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS ecosystems (EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, S3, API Gateway, Lamda, etc).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline including processes and tools.
  • Experience in Microsoft development stacks such as MS SQL Server, SSRS, .Net framework, ISS, etc.
  • Experience in modern development stacks such as NodeJS, React JS, Elastic Search, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of security in the Cloud.
  • Experience with Cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch, SIEM systems) and Cloud orchestration (Cloud formation, Ansible, etc).
  • Experience working within an ITIL framework for incident management and response is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
