Job description

We are looking to add someone to our growing Technical Operations team. We are seeking an individual who is always up for creative problem solving and communicating with a variety of teams across the organization. Remote applicants are welcome, as well as applicants that are looking for non-traditional schedules. You’ll be working with a globally diverse operations team, supporting our mission-critical application by resolving incidents and alerts, mitigating DDoS attacks, creating documentation and dashboards, and keeping NS1’s infrastructure running smoothly.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in 24x7 on call rotation
  • Incident management and post mortems
  • Writing clear and concise documentation
  • Creating and maintaining metrics, dashboards and alerting
  • Deploying and automating certain aspects of the platform

Your skills and experience

Should have:

  • Linux system administration knowledge
  • Experience being part of an on-call rotation for critical systems
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Understanding of internet protocols
  • Familiarity with Ansible or other automation tools
  • Eagerness to participate in continuous process improvement
  • Incident management experience

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with DNS protocol
  • Experience with traffic load balancing, filtering, and DDoS mitigation tools
  • Experience writing documentation
  • Experience with writing scripts
  • Experience with testing, selecting and maintaining hardware
  • ELK Stack
  • Grafana
  • JunosOS
  • BPF, iptables, packet analysis
