General information
Company overview
Imagine yourself walking into a café with thousands of tables with tall walls on the middle. Each person is sitting on an opposite side of a table. The wall has a screen displaying what individual does on a Friday night. The videos are funny and goofy. You walk around the table and realize the experience of surfing around the café is entertaining. It’s like browsing through the best personal Instagram stories. While you can't stop laughing and giggling.
In this café, it is a norm for the wandering people to sit and talk to strangers. However, rather than asking the other for a permission to have a talk on face to face, you show a funny video of things you do on a typical Friday night.
If the person says yes, you go out together watch a movie and take a walk. Everything sounds too good to be true. We are about to launch this café via application. The ultimate selective video chat 🥤✌️

Before I get into details, I would like to introduce myself:
My name is Moog. I grew in the United States
An extenuating circumstance in my life that explains some of my record is my past experience with sexual harassment. When I lived in Canada during elementary school, I was sexually harassed and this confused me. Then in high school, to my disbelief, I was falsely accused of sexual assault. The police came to investigate, and I proved my innocence. Eventually, the student who reported me was expelled when she falsely accused another classmate. Nevertheless, the damage was already done; nasty rumors began to propagate about me, and I transferred high schools.
I began to develop a phobia of others. I was scared to make new friends. I was afraid to trust anyone. Lunch time was the worst period during my school days. I ate lunch in the bathroom for 2 years. Looking back, it's easy to see now how this phobia impacted my ability to adjust and my viewpoint of the world at this young age. Lunchtime and recess were my least favorite parts of school. This phobia continued on.
While in the military, I learned an important lesson that relationships with others would be my greatest asset and greatest joy in life. For if individuals understood each other's sorrows a bit more, it could lead to a compassionate society and ultimately a better world.
I started act brave since then. I began to counsel other soldiers who had difficulty adjusting to military life. For the first time since my ordeal, I experienced what it was like to have a good reputation. The general noticed my efforts and hand-picked me to be his assistant. At the end of my service, the general awarded me a certificate for outstanding leadership.
After that, I went back to USC to resume my education. My grades dramatically improved from there on out, and all that happened was the reason why. I have developed sports tournaments, worked on a company that develops software for Alzheimer's patients, but most of all, I have been working hard to achieve academically. I dream that one day I could create a world that breaks down the boundaries of gender, race, and ethnicity. I believe the key is to build mutual relationships, which social networks have attempted to but so far have failed to achieve. I hope that my education and my work in business could continue to work on solving this bigger problem.
I have learned a lot from my past experiences. I have met inspiring people, mastered a different language, and found my calling.
I am a loner/ loser/ nerdy guy. I didn’t have many friends.
Plus, I suck at dating. Thanks to my past experience, I have understanding of this emotion called “loneliness”.
The feeling of apathy when you are abandoned by others.
I think this feeling of apathy from others and boredom makes people use social searching platforms, such as dating apps (Tinder, Badoo, Lovoo, Match.com, eHarmony and etc) and random video chats (Azar, Monkey, Yubo, Lively and Holla).
Here’s the the major difference between social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat) and social searching platform (listed above):
Social media is a network that prioritizes people who you already know or may already know. Social searching platform is to help people connect with someone you don’t know.
And I don’t think many social searching platforms are doing well to connect with various people. This could be due to safety issues, sexual/ verbal harassment.
In one words, there is no respect. And I think this the biggest problem/reason why social searching platform’s lifespan is short.
At least when people use this app, I don’t want anyone to feel lonely or left out.
I want to create a community where people genuinely enjoy conversations with new friends; where respect is based on foundation.
So,
This is my mission of this app: Creating a respectful community where people can connect with new friends by bringing back real human interaction.
The vision statement: Creating a world where people can help out each other.
I hope there’s a day when everyone truly understands each other.
After the graduation, I travelled around the world.
Here’s one of the links to my travel vlog.

Although I planned to travel for 1 full year, I returned to Korea in 6 months to start my own journey.
I emailed 700 computer science professors in my city if they are willing to give me 3 minutes of their class time to pitch my deck to their students.
I put posters on school campuses. (This didn’t work because the poster was written in English. I put at least 2000 posters but only one person called 😂)
I visited startup campuses around my city and pitched my deck whenever and wherever I can.
But I still haven’t found any developer who would put full time to this project.
Our team is building a selective video chat.
So basically the users can swipe through the video profile (the video profile only shows people who are currently online) and then if both parties agree to get on the video chat, then they get on the video chat!!
I have implemented my philosophy and values in this platform.
This is the platform that defines who I am.
While I was traveling, I realized the world is not as harsh as we think. There are many warm hearted people in this world (just like Hoai’s family in Germany) and I wanted to build a platform for people to build intimacy.
I had no money while I was traveling. My card stopped working and I had no cash. I sustained my life through making new friends and sleeping over at their places.
I wanted to make a platform where people can become friends and they can actually meet up in reality.
This is the old presentation that I made in the past.

I was personally fascinated by the app called Azar. It’s the first WebRTC random video chat that was implemented in mobile application. The company is based in Korea and within 4 years, they reached 2 billion downloads with annual sales of approximately $85 million dollars.
As you can tell from the name Azar, it has become a huge success in middle eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey UAE, and India, but not so popular in the western countries like Europe and America.
However, Azar is not popular in English speaking countries.
As of now, there is no social searching app that has successfully penetrated into this region. I believe this is the opportunity.
We have outsourced the platform at the beginning to this company in Russia.
They are helping us to build the beta version so that it can be released on August 1st.
Overall, this will be a fun app. So if you are interested, please let me know!!
Our People
Co Founder - Moog
While I was traveling around the world, I had no money. Lost money wallet and credit card.
So I tried to make new local friends every single day and slept over at their places.
Thankfully, they introduced me to other friends in different regions so that I could sleep over at their place. I feel thankful that I got help from so many people.
The core value lies on fun. Everything is about fun. We want people to have fun when people use this app. We don't want anyone to feel left out.
